Crowley had a side he didn't often let out aside from around animals. Hellhounds, for all that they might be unforgiving creatures to those that owed contracts, would never have faulted him for sentimentality like the rest of Hell. And so he had a certain fondness for the creatures. Truth was that Crowley did care more than he should, perhaps even more than he wanted to.
Mary shifted, standing up in Dean's lap, her gaze on the door sharp, and a low growl in her throat. Crowley raised an eyebrow at Dean, a smile curving his lips. "I do believe that's my cue. I'll catch you later, darling."
It was, of course, Sam. After introductions had been made, she liked him just fine, though it was readily apparent that she liked Dean
Crowley wasn't seen or heard from for a couple days, until one morning Dean would find him roused only a few minutes early by the alluring scent of coffee, and the warmth of someone sitting on the edge of his bed. Mary was in what had become her customary place curled up at Dean's side.
